Subject: IPDA Historian

Hello all,

As the IPDA season winds down, I am going start working diligently on collecting material as the IPDA historian.  I want to collect information in two ways.

The first is collecting data. This would be tournament results, newspaper clippings, university announcements, etc. I would greatly appreciate it if you could email me copies of what you have. If you want to mail me the material (cds, dvds, or even hard copies) I will copy them, reimburse cost of shipping, and return the material.

The second is collecting “oral histories” of debaters, judges, and coaches past and present. What I am looking for is about a one page reflection of your time in IPDA. Favorite tournaments, memories, people, places, etc. I believe it would be neat to have a personal aspect to the history of IPDA. I have attached a form(click here for attachment). You may submit it as anonymous if you like. Please keep it clean and cordial.

If you would like, you may bring material to IPDA Nationals. Sadly, I will not be there this year. We are welcoming the newest member into the Richey family and he decided that he wanted to be born then. Bob Alexander said he would help me collect material and would be the point of contact at Nationals.

I will work with the governing board on creating a public forum for all to see the history of IPDA.

Thank you all in advance for your help in this project.
