JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a blended position, allowing the successful applicant to teach within an academic department (reporting to the department Chair), while also serving as Director of Debate (reporting to the Dean/Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences). As Instructor, the successful applicant will teach a 2/2 load within their discipline. As Director of Debate, they will teach a 1/1 load and provide leadership, operational oversight, instruction, and supervision for the intercollegiate competitive debate program, while supporting the other areas of the LSU Shreveport (LSUS) Forum. This is a 9-month, non-tenure track, renewable position.
University of Central Missouri (Warrensburg, MO) - Graduate Assistant The University of Central Missouri’s Talking Mules has an open half-time Graduate Assistant Coaching position available for an incoming Master of Arts in Communication student. Interested applicants may also be granted a half-time Teaching Assistantship, teaching a section of our general education Public Speaking course, to complete their assistantship. Our team is a comprehensive program, competing in individual events and IPDA and Team IPDA debate. GAs will be involved with weekly coaches meetings, weekly team meetings, weekly practice sessions, and tournament travel (with the opportunity for international travel).
Past Graduate Assistants with the Talking Mules have a strong track record of being placed in Ph.D. programs and Forensics coaching positions across the country.
